for everyone
I recently went to the office of the Mudeer of Imam University (Sulaymaan Abaal-Khayl) to check up on the paperwork of a prospective student. There I was informed by the Mudeer's secretary that all applicants must submit a letter to the Mudeer (Khitaab) formally requesting to recieve a scholarship. These letters should adequately express the students desire to study and it should be written in Arabic and attached to the Application like a cover page. This paperwork is extremely important since it's exclusion could cause applicants files to be overlooked.

Wa 'alaykum as-salaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu,

If you are inquiring about the womens' branch of Imam University in Riyadh, then I cannot be of much assistance since I can only answer the questions regarding the Men's branch of the University where I was a student. Each branch of the University are completely segregated and operate under different administrations.

As for the womens' branch, then I do not have much information to offer. I do know that the admission on the womens' side is extremely competitive amongst Arab non-Saudis (i.e. Syrians, Egyptians etc...). But I do not know of any logistics concerning any of the programs of study for prospective non-Arab scholarship students.

I will however, advise sisters who are married or who have family members living in Makkah to strongly consider enrollment at Umm al-Qura University. So long as a sister can provide proof that she has a Mahram who is living as a legal resident of Makkah throughout the duration of her studies. If she can provide sufficient proof of this, then she is then free to pursue Arabic and Islamic studies at the University.

I'm sorry I cannot provide more information than this since I am not from the people of Makkah. But I would encourage interested parties to contact westerners living in Makkah with specific emphasis placed on current students of Umm al-Qura University.

I hope that I have adequately addressed your inquiries.

Akhookum fillah,
